Our work

We offer practical help ranging from direct advice to refuge accomodation to those in urgent need.

Our practical help and support includes the only local domestic abuse helpline which is 01273 622 828. We're here Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can find out more about our helpline, and our face-to-faceweekly drop-ins by clicking here.

RISE provides crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic abuse. This is by way of a refuge - which is a secure and confidential address where people receive specialist support from staff trained to work with women and children affected by domestic abuse. Our refuge has room for 15 families in urgent need.

Our LGB&T* service for survivors of domestic abuse was the first in England, and we also provide one of the few dedicated LGBT refuge and support services.

We also provide:

  • Support with criminal and civil proceedings
  • Counselling and support groups
  • Housing and finance information and solicitors appointments
  • Training
Our work

Every year we support over 2,000 women and their families to recover and reclaim their lives.
