We are recruiting for a Housing Specialist Officer who will help further establish a housing support service within RISE to provide guidance to navigate the housing systems for domestic abuse survivors and their families to enable them to access suitable, safe housing. They will provide one-to-one advocacy and develop relationships with housing providers, housing rights and legal experts.

The Housing Specialist Officer will work with clients both within the Refuge and in community based settings. They will work with current housing providers in the City of Brighton and Hove to secure safe routes for move-on housing support for victims of domestic abuse ensuring they have access to expert support to make the best choices and understand their rights to suitable accommodation.

The Housing Specialist Officer will create links with housing specialists, local authorities, private landlords and supported housing providers and deliver embedded advocacy for clients to enable them to access safe housing.

Throughout the project the Housing Specialist Officer will work to establish reliable routes for those whose lives have been disrupted by an abusive partner so they can feel safe.

The post holder will be responsible for recruiting, training and supervising 5 volunteers to provide basic guidance and support, working alongside the Housing Specialist Officer. The Housing Specialist Officer will oversee their caseloads.
