Hours: 2-4 Hours Per Week

Reporting to: Community Fundraiser

Role Summary:

To coordinate RISE’s collection boxes including their placement, exchange and collection on a regular basis as well as keeping accurate records and counting and banking monies.

General Duties:

  • To place and exchange charity collecting boxes on a regular basis (every 3 months), in venues where cash is used to purchase items, i.e. newspaper shop, pubs, chemists, etc.
  • To place the collecting boxes following a pre-planned route
  • To keep accurate records of sites, collection dates and amounts raised
  • Rise have few static sites but we would like to place maximum of 50 collection boxes at static sites over the Brighton & Hove area
  • Counting and logging monies and banking
  • Logging amount totals and durations in each location
  • Any other duties as required and relevant to the team’s needs.

Personal Skills and Qualities Required:

  • Car owner/driver is essential for this role, with a clean driving licence, unless you coordinate the boxes in your local area.
  • Basic Computer skills for Microsoft Word and Excel are desirable
  • Organised and methodical recording of data
  • Be honest and trustworthy
  • Be able to stay calm in a stressful environment and to seek help appropriately
  • Be in sympathy with the aims of Rise
  • Be prepared to accept supervision
  • Be able to commit yourself to regular voluntary work for Rise
  • Be reliable and consistent
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to understand and work with confidential data;
  • Ability to be flexible and work according to the needs of the team;
  • At all times you will be expected to protect the safety and security of services, service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information;
  • Acknowledge and actively support the rights of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic violence.
