RISE, a Sussex based, 2.5 million turnover, violence against women and girls charity, is seeking an outstanding leader as our new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

The successful applicant will take ownership, shared with our board, of this next phase for RISE as it seeks to continue to secure funding for its services and raises awareness of its work. If you are a feminist with proven leadership in public sector, private sector, commercial or charitable organisations we would love to hear from you.

Candidates must demonstrate strategic vision and governance skills and experience. As an ambassador for RISE, you will bring knowledge and experience, alliances and partnerships that RISE is renowned for across Sussex. You will be passionate about ensuring the diverse voices of survivors are heard, and will be faithful to the legacy of RISE as it seeks to grasp new challenges and opportunities in the next phase of its strategy. You must demonstrate the highest personal and professional ethics and integrity, be a positive role model inspiring confidence and respect from the team (Board members, staff, volunteers and supporters) and be demonstrably living RISE values.

Key responsibilities include leadership of the Board of Trustees, review and appraisal of the CEO, and ensuring that RISE is well governed in line with charitable regulation and best practice.

The role of Chair is voluntary with paid expenses.
