Free domestic abuse awareness training

Do you want to join the fight against domestic abuse in your community? Now is your chance to take action!

We're inviting anyone who comes into contact with the general public in their day-to-day life to become an Ask Me ambassador.

The scheme is open to EVERYONE who works, lives, studies or volunteers in the Brighton and Hove area, and comes into contact with your community somehow. This includes bar staff to hairdressers, reception staff to HR teams, dentists, pharmacists, retail staff and community groups.

The training will give you the skills and knowledge to respond when people talk to you about experiences of domestic abuse, and where to signpost people towards the specialist help they need.

The next training dates are (Please note full training is 12 hours, so it is split over 2/3 days listed beneath) :

Sunday 13th and Saturday the 19th of January, 09:30 - 16:30.

OR Thursday evenings - 28th February, 7th, 14th and 21st March 2019, 18:00-21:00, Hangleton

OR

Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th, and Friday 14th June, 9:30-13:30, Mouslecoomb

OR

Saturdays 21st and 28th September 2019, 9.30-16:30, Central Brighton

The venues are to be confirmed.

Anyone can sign up to be an Ask Me ambassador; whatever your background, gender or level of knowledge of domestic abuse, we need your support. Please just fill in the form below to register your interest.
