8K Undercliff Run for Women 2019

Posted October, 2019

Thank you to the four hundred women who took part in our 12th 8K Undercliff Run for Women on Saturday 13th October, amidst a medley of local stars, to raise thousands of pounds for survivors of domestic abuse.

Britain’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist, Lorraine Bowen, better known as ‘the Crumble Lady’ led the warm ups in a buzz of energy and excitement before the race was started by Caroline Lucas MP for Brighton and Hove Pavilion.

Wild weather added some bonus excitement as the colossal waves swept up and over the path, drenching some runners and spurring others on, including Running Like a Girl author, Alexandra Heminsley.

Brighton mayor Alex Phillips was also on hand to present the winners with their prizes. 1st place runner Heidi Hodgson, who was running for RISE for the first time, said: “it felt amazing to win, though I wasn’t expecting it. All the women were so supportive; it felt like a community down there, it was very heart-warming.”

Thank you!
