We reached our soft play crowd funder donation target!

Posted June, 2019

Summer has arrived, but we know that doesn't mean guaranteed sunny skies - so we've been crowd funding money for soft play so kids at our refuge can play whatever the weather.

RISE's refuge is a safe haven for kids and their mums in a time of massive life upheaval. These families come from backgrounds of domestic abuse into a strange new place.

Naturally, we try to make their stay as comfortable as possible with toys and games, alongside our specialist support to help them overcome the effects of living with abuse.

Last year, 56 adults & 54 children stayed in our refuge.

These kids can enjoy the refuge garden and the toys we already have, but we're always looking to do anything we can to brighten their stay. Our refuge staff have raised the need for soft play items so that the kids can lose themselves in play - come rain or shine.

We asked supporters to chip in anything you can towards £460 for a new soft play set for children at the refuge, as they learn to feel safe playing again. We reach our goal after only 2 weeks the crowd funder, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful supporters!

The top five donors will have their names painted on the wall next to the soft play - which will be photographed at an opening ceremony and shared with the press. Watch this space for the announcement of who the lucky supporters are!

Thank you so much to everyone that so kindly donated to bring sunshine into the lives of kids staying at the refuge.
