What if my running pack doesn't arrive, or I've lost my running number?

Not to worry! Send us an email, [email protected] – turn up on the day, from 9am at the Information Tent with some ID, and we’ll give you a new number.

I now find that I can’t run on the day, what shall I do?

Please let us know as soon as you know. We can probably use your place for the ‘waiting list’.

Will there be a warm up?

The wonderful Zuzana from Z Energy will be running a fab warm up for everyone, from 9:45 - 9:50.

Is there an age limit?

Runners must be aged 15 or over.

Can I walk the route?

We welcome walkers.... although we start to dismantle everything from 12.30pm.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes! There will be a refreshment van from 9-12:30 for teas, coffees, bacon butties (or veggie alternatives!)

Medals?

Yes, we have special 2021 8K medals for all participants – make sure you get one at the finish line once you have finished the race!

Can I enter on the day?

We will be unable to accept on the day sign ups, due to Covid safety precautions, so please make sure you sign up online before the start date!

Do I have to raise money for RISE?

We ask that you raise, or donate just £20. The registration fee only pays for the event, donations and sponsorship directly go to help support some of our most vulnerable people in our community.

Helpfully, your fundraising page is automatically created for you as soon as you finish your registration on Race Nation. However, if you would prefer a paper sponsorship form.... just email us requesting one [email protected]

Thank you in anticipation for your support.

Are there toilets on route?

There are portaloos at the start, public toilets at the top of the beach opp the junction of Saltdean Park Road, and at Rottingdean (c1KM) and Ovingdean (c2&6 KM)

Can we park near the start?

There is lots of available parking; there are free car parks in Saltdean Park Road, on the north side of the A259 (turning down beside the Lido). There is safe access to the beach/start via an underpass by the Lido, 10 min walk to the Start.

Ill or injured?

You should not run if ill or injured for your own safety. You should also not run if you test positive or have symptoms of coronavirus, or anyone in your household tests positive. You cannot give your number to someone else in your place. This is for insurance reasons.

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothing and footwear is important. If you intend to jog or run, we recommend you wear footwear designed for that purpose, otherwise you risk injury. However, fancy dress is welcomed! Please note – no skateboarding, rollerblading, cycling, inline skating, dog sledding, etc will be allowed on the course for health and safety reasons

Will there be a baggage drop?

We are unfortunately unable to offer a baggage drop this year- we are reducing all touch points in an effort to make the event as Covid secure as possible. As such, please ensure that you do not bring any valuable items with you, unless you can carry these with you while you run.

Do you need events volunteers?

Yes please! Get in touch at [email protected] if you're interested, or find out more information and to sign up here >> volunteer registration

Thanks so much for getting involved and we'll see you on the day.

Love, the RISE team.
