Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist - Adult Service

We are recruiting female counsellors to volunteer in the RISE Therapy Service. This placement would suit practitioners with some experience of working with women and trauma, who would like to develop their skills in this area and make a contribution to RISE's important recovery work.

Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist - Adult Service

Salary: £Voluntary position

Hours: 1/2 day per week approx

ROLE SUMMARY:

You will see up to three clients a week at our premises and you may be required to attend some team meetings and in-house trainings. Supervision is provided fortnightly. Up to two Saturdays per year may be expected for training days or half-days.

The Counsellor/Therapist is expected to deliver quality brief psychological interventions and adhere to clear ethical frameworks and keep clinical notes.

This placement would be suitable for the following applicant:

  • Qualified and accredited counsellors who wish to develop their experience with survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Recently qualified counsellors working towards BACP or UKCP accreditation with some experience of working with trauma
  • Trainee counsellors/psychotherapists who are in their second year or above of a BACP or UKCP accredited training course, and who have a minimum of 100 hours supervised client work plus some experience of working with trauma.
